COP22, the 22nd Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, was held in Marrakech, Morocco in November 2016. The conference brought together world leaders, ministers, climate scientists, and industry representatives to advance the implementation of the Paris Agreement and address the urgent challenges of climate change.
EnergyNet, a leading business intelligence and events company focused on African energy and infrastructure, provided extensive coverage and convening alongside the official COP22 proceedings.
Tonisha served as Content Curator for EnergyNet at COP22, a role that involved interviewing dignitaries, heads of state, and senior officials on climate policy, energy infrastructure, and sustainable development pathways. She curated and produced editorial content capturing high-level perspectives on Africa’s energy transition, smart grid futures, and the intersection of climate action with economic development.
This experience at the nexus of energy, technology, and international governance directly informed her later academic research into the cyber security of smart energy grid systems — the subject of her ongoing doctoral work at the University of East London.
